Drug Design Competition

The Drug Substance or Drug Product Process Development Design Competition challenges participants to propose a draft Chemistry, Manufacturing, and Controls (CMC) development package for a small molecule drug substance. Submissions must demonstrate the scientific rigor and process understanding expected of a pharmaceutical process development team preparing a Module 3.2.S filing in accordance with ICH Q8, Q9, Q10, and Q11 guidelines. Submissions should choose small molecule drug substance targets from the August 2025 ASPR Essential Medicines list.

This competition is open to NIPTE undergraduate and graduate students and postdoctoral researchers. Submissions may be completed individually or by teams. Five (5) $500 prizes will be awarded.
